History*
- 2011, state: LB64-- Is currently ongoing in the Legislature. It's potentially a major revision of 37-477.
- 2010, state: LB747-- Was converted into an amendment to LB836 (a deer depredation bill), and ultimately passed and was signed by the Governor on April 5, 2010. This bill claimed to protect mountain lions (cougars) while also enabling ranchers and farmers to protect their livestock. One big loophole was successfully challenged and changed, but the wording of the bill was still left with some loopholes in it that could allow cougars to be killed.
- 2007, state: LB25-- Was an attempted backdoor ban on hybrid dogs and cats under the guise of protecting the public from rabies. It was passed and signed into law, but before that, it was successfully amended to remove hybrid cats. The dog hybrids that remained don't have to be vaccinated with the vaccine that's specifically approved for them until that vaccine actually exists.
