History*
- 2010, state: LB747-- Is currently in process in the Nebraska Legislature. This bill claims to protect mountain lions (cougars) while also enabling ranchers and farmers to protect their livestock. But the wording of the bill will actually give farmers and ranchers free reign to kill cougars and bobcats with no penalties or regulation.
- 2007, state: LB25-- Was an attempted backdoor ban on hybrid dogs and cats under the guise of protecting the public from rabies. It was passed and signed into law, but before that, it was successfully amended to remove hybrid cats. The dog hybrids that remained don't have to be vaccinated with the vaccine that's specifically approved for them until that vaccine actually exists.
